Spun Cotton Ornaments

Imagine the moment, when you open a box of sparkling Christmas ornaments, found in a secret dusty attic…

Filasophie’s one of a kind  cotton batting ornaments are based on a technique which was used in Germany around the turn of the century in 1900 to create whimsical Christmas ornaments and bring back the glamour of past times.

If you are looking for a personal home decor accessory or a true piece of traditional craftsmanship, you will love it!

The Process:

Each ornament is entirely made by hand and with great attention to detail. Several steps are necessary to create each character with love & soul.

It all starts with an idea translated into a wire frame which will be neatly wrapped with cotton until a new character reveals.

After the drying process, the white figurine is ready for the fun part: adding colour and embellishments - carefully collected and stored for "that special one"...

Make your home decor stand out with exclusive ornaments - made with love. Surround yourself with a true piece of history which can be decorated in so many different ways throughout the entire year: displayed on a book shelf or on your mantel during the festive holiday season… The possibilities are endless…

„Sophie is hands down the most amazing! Her work is not only gorgeous, but her personality is too.

She custom made our wedding cake topper and communicated with me through the entire process.

I felt like I was talking to a friend, and that she truly cared about how special the item she was working on was.

The swans are more beautiful than I ever imagined they would be, and I just can't wait for everyone to be so surprised and impressed when they are sitting on top of our cake! Thanks again Sophie!”
